Nelly To Headline ‘CMT Crossroads’

• CMT revealed that double diamond, three-time Grammy-award winning rapper Nelly will headline an upcoming installment of the iconic music series, CMT Crossroads — the series’ first hip hop headliner. Joined by longtime friends and collaborators Florida Georgia Line, Kane Brown, Blanco Brown and BRELAND, CMT Crossroads: Nelly & Friends premieres Wednesday, September 1.

Nelly first burst onto the Country scene in 2004 with “Over and Over,” his groundbreaking duet with Tim McGraw. Later this month, he’s releasing his new Country-inspired EP, Heartland, his first new album since 2013. Nelly recently released his second single from the album, “High Horse” featuring Blanco Brown & BRELAND, plus teased a new song, “Cool Again” with Kane Brown. The EP’s first single, “Lil Bit” with Florida Georgia Line was just awarded RIAA Platinum certification and follows their Diamond-certified collaboration, “Cruise” (BMLG).

CMT Crossroads: Nelly & Friends will also feature new music from Heartland alongside high-energy performances of Nelly’s biggest hits, including a few surprises celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Country Grammar. Nelly commented, “I’m excited to celebrate my music with my friends and fellow artists on Crossroads! When people talk about me crossing lines and genres, I think about it more that music brings folks together.”

CMT Crossroads: Nelly & Friends premieres Wednesday, September 1 at 10pm ET/9pm CT exclusively on CMT.
