New Day At Radio Libre 790

• Audacy announced a new weekday on-air lineup for Spanish AC/Conservative Talk hybrid WAXY-AM (Radio Libre 790)/Miami, highlighted by three new local shows and the appointment of Miguel “Mijo” Irizarry as Brand Manager. Mijo (left) will retain his other fulltime gig as Brand Manager and afternoon talent across the hall on WPOW (Power 96).

Here are the three new shows: 6-10am ET: Despierta Miami con Eli Escobar, features local news and national and global trends, as well as timeless music for the listeners of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties. Eli Escobar began her career in 2006 with sister KLOL (Mega 101) in her hometown of Houston, where she co-hosted the morning show until 2013. In 2015, she served as morning traffic anchor for the cluster, concurrently doing middays on KHMX (Mix 96.5) until 2022.

11am-2pm: En este Pais con Lourdes Ubieta — Market veteran Lourdes Ubieta is a seasoned media pro, recognized as one of the most influential conservative Hispanic female journalists in the U.S. Her career spans TV, radio and political marketing. Her new three-hour show will offer with insights on current affairs, diverse interviews and listener participation.

2-6pm: El Show de Jorge Bonilla — Writer, activist and media analyst Jorge Bonilla delivers sharp political analysis that cuts through the noise of national and local issues and insights that resonate throughout the Hispanic community of South Florida. A veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, Bonilla is a former Republican candidate for Congress.
