NRG’s Omaha Group Sold To Usher Media
• The sale of News-Talk KOIL-AM/Omaha, NE; Rhythmic KOPW-FM/Plattsmouth, NE; Sports-Talk KOZN-AM & Yacht Rock KZOT-AM/Bellevue, NE; and Hot AC KQKQ-FM/Council Bluffs, IA from NRG Media, LLC to Usher Media, LLC has now closed.
NRG Media LLC, is an Iowa-based company headed by Mary Quass and has operated a regional portfolio of radio stations across Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Wisconsin for more than 20 years. Quass said, “We have had a wonderful partnership with Omaha and are happy that Alan Usher and his group will continue that relationship.”
Usher Media, LLC, is a Nebraska-based company headed by Alan Usher, who said, “This acquisition is a statement of belief in Omaha and in Nebraska. Local radio matters. Local leadership matters. We are committed to building a broadcast presence that reflects the strength of this community and delivers real value to the businesses and people who call it home.”
KOIL-AM operates at 1290 kHz, with 5.00 kW day and 5.00 kW night • KOZN-AM operates at 1620 kHz, with 10.00 kW day and 1.00 kW night • KZOT-AM operates at 1180 kHz, with 25.00 kW day and 1.00 kW night • KQKQ-FM operates at 98.5 MHz, with 100.00 kW at 1,102′ HAAT • KOPW-FM operates at 106.9 MHz, with 25.00 kW at 328′ HAAT.
