Programming: Mad Hatta, Big Mike Bell

• Radio One Urban AC KMJQ (Majic 102.1)/Houston celebrates 40 years of Majic and announces market icon Madd Hatta as its new APD. Hatta is a 20-year cluster vet and a Texas Radio Hall of Fame member who is also known and loved as the host of The Mad Hatta Morning Show across the hall on KBXX (97.9 The Box). Moments after Hatta’s new stripes were installed, Radio One Houston OM Terri Thomas commented, “In addition to hosting the Madd Hatta Morning Show on the 97.9 The Box, Madd Hatta has also been a part of the Majic 102.1 success story — his Super Throwback Party as well as his mixing skills have helped propel Majic to outstanding ratings. • “Big Mike” Bell is the new PD of Cumulus Urban WEAS (E93)/Savannah, GA. Bell, a 15-year radio pro, earns the transfer from the PD post at Urban sibling WYNN/Florence, SC. Prior to joining Cumulus, he held APD and on-air posts in Tyler, TX and Madison, WI.
