Programming Pros On The Loose

• Late yesterday we learned that Anne Gress had left her position as PD of CBS Radio’s highly rated Classic Hits outlet WOGL/Philadelphia after a 14-year run. No replacement has been named as of yet. Gress has been with the station since August of 2003 and had guided its transition from Oldies 98 to Classic Hits. Gress has 26 years of programming experience in the Philadelphia market. Before joining WOGL, Gress had spent three years as Operations Manager at iHeartMedia Urban WUSL (Power 99) and former Smooth Jazz WJJZ.

Gress programmed WJJZ from 1995-2000 and also worked in the programming department at former Pyramid/Evergreen Hot AC WYXR (Star 104.5) from 1991-1995. Earlier in her career Gress was an air personality at the legendary WRBQ (Q105)/Tampa under former owner Malrite. Gress can be reached at annegress@gmail.com.

RAMP also confirmed that Michael Chase has exited Entercom Hot AC WSTR (Star 94.1)/Atlanta after 16 years as his position is eliminated. His last day was Thursday, May 18. Chase was the station’s longtime APD/MD and had annexed Director of Marketing and Promotions duties in October 2015 when Mike Moshure left. In a statement to RAMP, Chase said, ” Working at Star was a dream come true and I am beyond grateful to have had the chance to work with and learn from some of the best in the business. It has been an amazing run (16+ years) and I’m so thankful for the friendships, memories, and all the skills I have learned in my time there. Everyone at Entercom has treated me and this situation with the utmost of respect, and I wish everyone there nothing but success.”

Chase added, “Unfortunately, my position was eliminated, but I’m beyond excited to get out there to find my next opportunity. I’m ready to have some meaningful conversations about programming opportunities as well as other interesting positions in the music industry.” Prior to joining Star 94.1 in 2001, Chase worked at WZYP/Huntsville, AL, WZNY/Augusta, GA and WRVQ/Richmond. He can now be reached at 404-388-1715 and radiochase@gmail.com.
