Randy Fox Named PD Of KSBJ/Houston
• Last week we told you that Randy Fox had resigned as PD of American General Media Rhythmic KKSS (Kiss 97.3) and Hot AC KKRG (Mix 105.1)/Albuquerque, NM after nearly four years for a Top 10 market gig — that news is now official, as Fox has been named PD of Hope Media Group Contemporary Christian 89.3 KSBJ/Houston.
“I’ve known Randy since my days in Sacramento,” said Shawn Farrington, Sr. Director of Content for Hope Media Group. “He’s got a great reputation, is well loved by those he has worked with, and has led successful brands. He’s got a big heart for Jesus, too — and I couldn’t be happier to see him joining Hope Media Group to lead KSBJ into its next season.” Ron Harrell, WAY Media VP of Brand and Content, echoes those sentiments, noting, “Randy brings fresh ears and perspective to the CCM format. His desire to join the passionate talent at KSBJ will have a strong impact on the ministry of Hope Media Group. I’m excited the coming merger between Hope Media Group and WAY Media means I will get to share this journey with him.”
Fox joined AGM Albuquerque in July 2018 after a lengthy run in Sacramento, including a stint as PD of Entercom Rhythmic KSFM and 16 years with CBS Radio Sacramento in a variety of roles. Earlier in his career Fox held programming, on air, production and creative services positions in Austin, Phoenix, El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM.
Fox commented, “I feel very blessed to be joining Hope Media Group. It’s a great honor to be a part of bringing hope to the Houston community and help them know what Christ’s life-changing love can do. I would like to thank the KSBJ family for their confidence in me to serve with them in their vision, faith-driven mission, and commitment to being a light in the community.”
Fox succeeds Troy West, who last December joined Educational Media Foundation as Asst. Network PD of EMF’s KLOVE and Air1 Networks.
