Rizzuto Show Extended & Expanded
• Hubbard Radio St. Louis happily announced that Scott Rizzuto, host of the #1-rated Rizzuto Show on Alternative KPNT (105.7 The Point) has applied Sharpie to cocktail napkin, thus, legally securing a sweet new five-year deal with Hubbard Radio, extending his show through July 2028.
And it gets better — The Rizzuto Show has been given the green light to add two new-yet-familiar cast members starting next month: say hello to the lovely Lern, currently doing afternoons across the hall on Classic Rock KSHE 95, and comedian Rafe Williams, a frequent guest and fill-in host on The Rizzuto Show. Lern, a 15-year veteran of KSHE, makes her big move on April 17, while Williams makes his Rizzuto Show debut April 3.
Lern said, “I feel like the luckiest woman in radio because of my time with KSHE 95 and now getting to join the Rizzuto Show. The coolest stations I grew up loving as a listener have now turned into two life-changing opportunities for my career. I’m excited for the next chapter of my radio story!” Lern will keep one foot in the KSHE side as she will continue to host Monday Night Metal from 9p-midnight.
OM Tommy Mattern said, “I’m beyond excited to have the Rizzuto Show continue on the Point for the next five years. There isn’t a better lead in radio than Scott Rizzuto and I’m happy we are able to surround him with very talented people like Lern and Rafe and continue the success of this great show.” Pictured, (l-r): Moon, Lern, Rafe Williams, Rizzuto and King Scott.
• Wasting zero time, the company announced the hire of Josh Innes to succeed Lern in afternoons on KSHE 95, effective April 27. Innes (left) is inbound from Nashville, where he most recently did mornings on iHeartMedia Classic Rock WNRQ (105.9 The Rock). Earlier stops include KFNC (ESPN 97.5 + 92.5) and KMBE (SportsTalk790)/Houston, and WIP/Philadelphia. Innes said, “I’m truly humbled by the opportunity to be heard on KSHE 95, the greatest rock radio station on the planet. I love KSHE. I love St. Louis. This is my dream job.”
KSHE 95 Brand/Content Director Marty Linck said, “Lern has been a staple at KSHE since she started here in 2008. The opportunity for her to be a part of the Rizz Show was too enticing to pass up, and we’ll miss her, but Josh is going to shake things up for us in a great way. It’s a new era for KSHE, and Josh will be a huge part of it.”
Just one more thing: Brooke Grimsley, who most recently anchored sports on KMOV-TV is joining The Opening Drive morning show on WXOS (101 ESPN), alongside Randy Karraker and Carey Davis. Mattern added, “Hubbard St. Louis is always looking to add to our roster to ensure we have the most compelling and entertaining content in the market, and these moves help solidify our spot as a destination for the best talent.”
