• Alana Lynn is the newly named MD/afternoon personality at CBS Radio Country KMLE/Phoenix. She will entertain the Phoenix market weekdays from 3-9pm on the New KMLE @ 107.9 beginning Monday, April 3. It’s a major move up in market size for Ms. Lynn, who is currently working for Townsquare Media in Ft. Collins, CO doing mornings on Classic Hits KTRR (TRI 102.5) and middays on Country KUAD (K99). In making the announcement, Tim Richards, VP of Programming for CBS Radio Phoenix said, “Alana is an amazing talent and we couldn’t be more excited for her to join the KMLE family.”
Ms. Lynn’s earlier stops include afternoons on Townsquare Hot AC KKPL (99.9 The Point)/Fort Collins, and her extensive morning show resume includes Townsquare Country KAWO (WOW 104.3)/Boise, ID, Alpha Media Country KUPL (98.7 The Bull)/Portland, OR and iHeartMedia Country KBQI (Big 107.89)/Albuquerque, NM. Commenting on her impending move, Lynn remarked, “It’s been a radio dream to have an opportunity like KMLE come along. I am incredibly excited and humbled to join a team with so much drive and talent!” Lynn will succeed Bryan “B-Dub” Washington, who, as we previously reported, has accepted a position TBA in another market.
• Mapleton Communications of Spokane, WA has promoted Jamie Patrick to the big PD chair at Country KDRK (93.7 The Mountain). That title had been held since 2014 by Greg Tillotson, who is now Station Manager. Patrick is a 21-year market vet who has been in the Mapleton building for the past 14 years.
Commenting on his well-deserved promotion, Patrick exclaimed, “I love Spokane! I’m excited to continue my career and this journey with KDRK! I want to thank VP of Programming Mike Skot, Greg Tillotson and Karen Dineen for their support and trust in me to take this next step.” Along with his fancy new PD stripes Patrick will retain his MD/Asst. OM titles and continue to do the KDRK morning show.
