• Beasley Media Group AC WMGQ (Magic 98.3)/New Brunswick, NJ has promoted APD/midday personality Debbie Mazella to PD, replacing Jeff Rafter, who exits. Mazella started her career with Magic 98.3 in 2007 and added APD stripes a year later. “Ever since my childhood, I wanted to be involved in radio and I’m extremely grateful to the mentors who have influenced, encouraged and helped me on my career path,” said Mazella, who will continue to do middays. “It’s even more exciting to know that I’m the first female PD in Magic’s 40-year history!”
Beasley VP of Programming Buzz Knight remarked, “We are thrilled that Debbie can lead this amazing radio station to new heights! She understands the marketplace and the audience lifestyle better than anyone.” Dan Finn, SVP/Regional Market Manager for Beasley Media Group New Jersey, commented, “Debbie’s passion for our brand is second-to-none! Debbie’s solid on-air performance and leadership skills have made it an easy decision to appoint her captain of the team with the task of taking WMGQ to…[yup, we’re going there…] the next level!™”
