Two Key Openings @ Zimmer/Columbia, MO
• Zimmer Communications in Columbia, MO has two prime opportunities available: 1) Program Director for heritage Country KCLR (Clear 99), and 2) an afternoon drive personality for Top 40 sister KTXY (Y107).
Let’s start at KCLR, where it was just announced that PD/afternoon talent Jamie Mac is leaving after nearly 13 years, as his wife has accepted a new career opportunity in the St. Louis area.
As the new PD, [your name here] will be responsible for all aspects of KCLR’s programming, music and marketing efforts while consistently coaching our veteran on-air staff. Prior experience with leading a team, music scheduling, website maintenance, and social media/digital are preferred, although, we’re willing to train the right person, so this might be a good opportunity if you’re a current or former APD. FYI: KCLR is a multiple CMA and ACM Country Station of The Year recipient and has also won the NAB Marconi Award for Country Station of The Year.
• Across the hall, Marconi-winning Top 40 KTXY (Y107) now has afternoons open, as Liz transitions over to KCLR as morning co-host.
The right person for this position understands the difference between doing a “shift” and an engaging “show,” loaded with phones, pop culture/artist news, and local info. For the right individual, this might also be an opportunity to grow into the APD role. Sure, we are looking for SOME experience with music scheduling, blogging, video, and social media/digital. However, enthusiasm and the desire to learn, contribute and win are more important.
• Candidates for either one of these awesome openings are invited to email your resume, MP3, social sites and anything else you feel we need to know about you to RadioJobs@ZRGmail.com. No phone calls, please. Zimmer Communications is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
