Dillon Takes Middays At KKBQ/Houston

• Cox Media Group Country KKBQ (The New 93Q)/Houston welcomes format veteran Corey Dillon as its new midday personality, weekdays from 10am-3pm CT. The shift was previously occupied by Christi Brooks, who last October was promoted to Director of Branding & Programming for sister KCYY (Y100)/San Antonio. “I’m so excited to have a dynamic talent like Corey join the 93Q family,” said Johnny Chiang, Director of Operations for CMG Houston. “There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s going to be a hit with our team and our audience.”

The move marks a return to the Houston Country battle for Dillon, who previously did nights on Entercom rival KILT-FM (100.3 The Bull) until early 2018. More recently he did afternoons and middays on Hubbard Radio Country KNUC (98.9 The Bull)/Seattle until April 2020. Earlier in his career Dillon did late nights on XHTZ (Z90)/San Diego, nights at WXXX (95 Triple X)/Burlington, VT and weekends on WODS (the former 103.3 AMP Radio) in his hometown of Boston.

“I’m honored at the opportunity to join an incredible station in the No. 1 Country [music] market and be welcomed into the CMG family,” said Dillon. “I love this city and I love the listeners here. There’s no better place to work in Country music. I’m so excited to be back in Houston!”
