• Spam: Part of This Complete Breakfast — Sun Broadcasting Alternative WXNX (93X)/Ft. Myers, FL welcomes the delicious and nutritious Spam to take command of the morning show. The move takes a bunch of pressure off of Tommy Fox, who had had been tracking mornings and nights for the past few months. Spam was most recently MD/afternoons at Entercom Alternative WSFS (104.3 The Shark)/Miami until August of last year. Spam previously worked at Hearst Active Rock WIYY (98 Rock)/Baltimore, but he’s probably best known and loved for his two-decade run with the late, great WHFS/Washington.
When introducing Spam, WXNX PD John Rozz explained to RAMP, “Spam became available, and we were looking for someone with his skill set — now we get to enjoy Spam every weekday morning!” Mr. Spam is now on the job and can be reached at Spam@93X.fm.
• We recently reported that Tampa Bay’s long-running married morning show stars Chadd & Kristi Thomas had resigned from Cox Media Group Hot AC WWRM (Magic 94.9) and were in the process of migrating across the street to mornings on Beasley’s WBRN, which on Jan. 5 flipped from Rock to AC as The New b98.7. Chadd & Kristi will officially debut on b98.7 at 5am Monday, February 6.
Chadd Thomas said, “We’re thrilled to be able to continue to wake up with the Tampa Bay area every weekday morning on The New b98.7, where we can entertain our amazing listeners.” Chadd then handed the mic over to Kristi, who added, “We’re happy to be able to do what we love and serve the community that we call home. We’re eager to join the morning lineup at Beasley Media Group, which is just as committed to the Tampa Bay community as we are!”
