Holley Leaves WEEI/Boston For TV

Michael Holley, longtime co-host of Dale & Holley Show with Rich Keefe on Entercom Sports-Talk WEEI/Boston did his final show on Wednesday. Holley, who hosted the afternoon drive show with Dale Arnold and Rich Keefe, announced he’s joining NBC Sports Boston fulltime.

As Boston.com reports, Holley, who is already a co-host of NBC Sports Boston’s weeknight show Boston Sports Tonight, will now take on an expanded role with the regional sports network, though the specifics are not yet certain. “Leaving this job was not an easy thing for me,” Holley said when announcing the decision during the 5pm hour of Wednesday’s show. The full recording of his announcement is posted on WEEI.com.

In a statement posted online, Entercom Boston SVP/Market Manager Mark Hannon said, “After 13 years with WEEI, Michael Holley has chosen not to renew his agreement with the station. He was offered a multi-year extension at WEEI, but has opted instead to expand his role on NBC Sports Boston, beginning next week.”

Hannon added, “Michael has been a staple at WEEI over the last decade plus, and while we are saddened by his decision, we wish him nothing but the best as he continues his career in television. A search to replace Michael as co-host of the Dale & Holley Show with Rich Keefe will commence immediately.”
