Jack Spade: 2 Stations, No Waiting

• Sunrise Broadcasting Alternative WRMR (Modern Rock 98.7)/Wilmington, NC takes full advantage of a existing radio pro already cruising the hallways and taps Jack Spade to handle middays. Luckily, this added airshift still leaves Spade plenty of time to unplug and run across the hall to do his regular afternoon drive show on Top 40 WAZO (Z107.5).

Spade joined Sunrise Broadcasting last September after a four-year stint as PD of Rhythmic WJJS/Roanoke. Explaining her decision to deploy Spade on WRMR in addition to WAZO, PD Laura Lee told RAMP, “Modern Rock had been going through an identity crisis with very few personalities being on the station since late last year. With the new direction in mornings, it was the perfect time to try and fill out the dayparts. Jack is a natural fit for middays on Modern Rock. He’s got the ability to be topical while letting the music shine. He is a much welcomed, and needed addition to Modern Rock.”

Spade’s previous programming stops include the late, legendary WABB/Mobile, AL, WHTS (103-5 Hot FM)/Grand Rapids, MI and WQSL & WZKL/Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville, NC.
