Jam’n 94.5 Boston Adjusts Jock Line-up
iHeartMedia Rhythmic WJMN (Jam’n 94.5)/Boston has realigned its personality line-up in the wake of the departure of 17-year station vet Geespin, who, as we reported last week, is headed down a new career path to a position with a talent agency. [Ed. note: Gee was also APD/MD at Urban sibling WWPR (Power 105.1)/New York, and the search for his successor there is currently underway].
“We had quite a send-off last week!” said Dylan Sprague, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Boston. “We will certainly miss Geespin. I wanted to make sure you had our new line-up as we have shuffled things around.” The newly revised Jam’n 94.5 jock roster looks like this — 6-10am: The Breakfast Club; 10am-2pm: Maverik (moves from afternoon drive); 2-6pm: Ashlee (who was the local host of The Breakfast Club, then did 10am-noon), and 6-10pm: DJ Pup Dawg (who moves from middays).
In a note to the staff, Sprague explained the logical reasoning behind these strategic jock moves, saying, “This realignment puts Boston’s most recognized DJ and our most credible music expert on in the evening — continuing our tradition of championing new music and new artists in this daypart. Mav will bring his afternoon energy to middays and the world famous ‘Back in the Day Buffet.’ We also tap into Ashlee’s loyal morning following and develop an afternoon show that feels more like what she did on Jam’n in the mornings.”
