Kroeger, Hilborn In Motion
• Entercom Charlotte announced a multiyear agreement with Chris Kroeger to continue as host of Prime Time on Sports-Talk WFNZ (610AM/102.5FM The Fan) weekdays from 2-6pm. “Chris Kroeger leads the conversation in all things Sports for Charlotte on WFNZ,” said Matt Hanlon, VP/Market Manager, Entercom Charlotte. “His depth of knowledge and relationships with everyone in town related to Sports makes him an invaluable resource and Sports leader. We’re thrilled he’s committed to WFNZ and Entercom for the future.”
Kroeger, a Charlotte native, said, “I’m thrilled to continue with WFNZ and Entercom Charlotte. WFNZ took a chance on me to come home and revive the afternoon show a few years ago. I’m beyond excited to keep building on the growth of our show and the sports history of Charlotte.”
• Jeff Hilborn has been upped from General Sales Manager to General Manager of the six Hubbard Broadcasting stations in scenic Brainerd, MN — AC WJJY, Classic Rock KLIZ (107.5 The Power Loon), Country WBLB (B93.3), Oldies KUAL (Cool 103.5), Sports-Talk KLIZ-AM (The Fan) and Business KVBR-AM. Hilborn assumes his new role July 6 and will succeed retiring GM Mike Boen, who successfully managed the Brainerd market for 24 years. “Jeff is going to be an excellent General Manager for the Hubbard radio stations in Brainerd,” said Dan Seeman, VP/Regional Manager of Hubbard Minnesota. “Jeff has been managing in the Brainerd lakes area for over 25 years. He has big shoes to fill — Mike Boen has been an outstanding leader in the market.”
