Lauren Lapka Drives Chicago Home
• Chicago radio vet Lauren Lapka has been named as the new afternoon drive traffic reporter on Tribune’s WGN Radio/Chicago, starting Thursday, March 14. Lapka will be heard on The John Williams Show starting at 1pm and The Roe Conn Show with Anna Davlantes from 3-7pm. In addition to her live traffic reports, Lapka will also host the Weekend Warnings video series on wgnradio.com and cover transportation stories for WGN Radio News.
“Having Lauren back in the WGN Radio family is a huge win for afternoon drive,” said Todd Manley, WGN Station Manager & VP of Content. “Her playful intelligence is the perfect complement to Roe & Anna and John Williams.”
Born and raised in Orland Park, IL, Lapka returns to Tribune Media where she was previously an on-air personality for the company’s now defunct Sports-Talk station WGWG-LP (87.7 The Game). In 2015, Lapka transitioned to TV as a news reporter and anchor for KODE and KSNF/Joplin, MO. Most recently, she was the morning anchor for KVAL-TV/Eugene, OR. She holds a B.A. in Mass Communications from Purdue University.
