Now Entering Indy: Chris Randolph
Nice to see longtime Louisville radio pro Chris Randolph back behind a mic again, this time in Indianapolis — as Cumulus Media announced the acquisition of Mr. Randolph as the new afternoon host on Country WFMS/Indianapolis, effective October 2.
Randolph most recently did mornings at Alpha Media Hot AC WXMA (102.3 The Max)/Louisville until earlier this month, when the station flipped to Adult Hits as 102.3 Jack FM. Prior to that, he spent seven years in mornings across the street on iHeartMedia Country WAMZ. Randolph previously did mornings on iHeartMedia’s WMTX (Mix 100.7)/Tampa and WMXL/Lexington, KY, but the bulk of his radio career has been spent in Louisville — back in the day Randolph was PD/morning host at Clear Channel’s WZKF (now WNRW) and afternoon talent on Rock sister WQMF. He was also a Premium Choice personality for iHeartMedia’s Country and Classic Rock stations.
In making the announcement of Randolph’s hire, Stephen Giuttari, OM/PD of WFMS said, “We’re very excited to have Chris join the team here in Indy. He’s one of the top talents in our industry and I’m confident that he will be a great addition to our team at WFMS and that Indy Country listeners will love him!” Randolph exclaimed, “I’m still pinching myself cause I can’t believe I’m getting ready to do afternoons on one of the biggest legendary country call letters in America, WFMS! Plus, no alarm clock anymore! A big thank-you to Stephen Giuttari, Doug Hamand and Mike McVay for giving me one of the most amazing opportunities of my career. I can’t wait to get started!” Upon Randolph’s arrival, Jay Dillon will move to middays.
