Pros In Motion
• iHeartMedia Hot AC WZJZ (Y100.1)/Ft. Myers, FL fills its 7-midnight shift with talented twins Marissa and Marianela Gonzalez, better known as Lulu and Lala. The New Jersey natives will be imported from their home base at sister WKTU/New York, where they continue to do afternoon drive. The move marks a Florida radio return for Lulu and Lala, who used to work WFLC (Hits 97.3)/Miami.
“I’m so happy to welcome Lulu and Lala to southwest Florida,” says Eric “The Funky 1” Rosado, PD of Y100.1. “They are a perfect fit to an already all-star lineup at Y100.1. Their connection to pop culture and the entertainment world, social media presence and ability to relate to our listeners everyday lives is sure to shake up nights in Fort Myers!”
• Townsquare Country WOKQ/Portsmouth, NH welcomes Bill Fox to the crew as its new morning co-host, plugging in across from Kira Lew. Fox arrives from Albany, NY, where he has spent the past 4 1/2 years co-hosting the morning show on Pamal Broadcasting AC WYJB (B95.5). No stranger to New England, Fox (a huge Red Sox fan!) previously did mornings for six years at WFNK (107.5 Frank FM)/Portland ME. He’s also worked at KXOA/Sacramento, KWYE (Y101)/Fresno, KLLY/Bakersfield and WBHT/Wilkes-Barre, PA. Fox is also an Air Force veteran and worked for the Armed Forces Radio Network while serving for seven years.
Fox assumes his new wake-up duties on Monday March 6, much to the relief of OM/Brand Manager JC Coffey, who has been occupying the morning co-pilot seat since last September and will now gratefully return to his afternoon drive shift. Coffey tells RAMP, “Bill is a proven ratings success story. We’re looking forward to welcoming his energy and passion for great morning radio to WOKQ.” Congratulate Bill at bfoxrox@gmail.com.
