Roger Todd Wakes Up In Knoxville

• We’ve finally solved that pesky “Roger Todd” mystery — last week we reported that Todd had wrapped up a 14-year run in mornings on Hall Communications’ Country WPCV/Lakeland, FL, and he and his wife Jan announced their relocation to Knoxville to be closer to their children — and where Todd had secured a mystery morning gig. Turns out that gig is mornings on Midwest Communications’ AC WJXB (B97.5)/Knoxville, where Todd will join market vets Ashley Adams and Michele Silva, effective Oct. 1. He succeeds Brad Jeffries, who exited several months ago.

WJXB Brand Manager Shane Cox notes, “Our entire Knoxville operation is excited to welcome Roger and his family to B97.5. Roger will join Ashley and Michele to make the B97.5 morning show East Tennessee’s #1 choice to start their day.” Randy Ross, VP/GM of Midwest Communications Knoxville, commented, “Roger is a terrific award-winning morning talent and community-oriented broadcaster who knows how to win and strengthen brands.”

Todd is a seven-time nominee for CMA Personality of the Year and a five-time nominee as ACM Personality of the Year, winning each honor once. Weighing in on his new opportunity, Todd remarked, “I’m very excited to join the B97.5 team! Who would have thought that during a pandemic, such a fantastic opportunity would present itself? I’m looking forward to having a lot of fun and making many new friends in East Tennessee!”
