Sam Shane Joins KFBK/Sacramento
• iHeartMedia’s NewsRadio KFBK/Sacramento has hired Sam Shane as the co-anchor/host of The KFBK Morning News, plugging in across from Cristina Mendonsa weekdays from 5-9am, effective April 1. Shane has more than 30 years of experience in broadcast journalism and investigative reporting, including stints at KCRA-TV and CBS 13/Sacramento, KGO-TV/San Francisco, Fox TV Seattle and as a national anchor for MSNBC.
“We’re thrilled that Sam is joining NewsRadio KFBK,” said Curtiss Johnson, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia Sacramento. “He and Cristina will break down the day’s news and explain exactly how that news affects Sacramento and Northern Californians, providing insights beyond the headlines.”
KFBK PD Bill White said, “Sam’s deep roots in our community and his connections in the Capital City mean that he has a wealth of experience, perspective and views to draw upon that will give clarity and perspective to the day’s events. It’s that wealth of experience, intellect and analysis that will help make The KFBK Morning News so much more than just a utility and download of daily data.”
Shane commented, “I’m delighted to join Cristina and the entire team at NewsRadio KFBK. Listeners can expect a show packed with engaging, relevant and meaningful stories from around the world — with an emphasis on the local events that impact them right here in Northern California.”
