Tavlin Looks Both Ways, Crosses Hall

• We are pleased to report that Scott Tavlin‘s spotless five-year employment streak with Cox Media Group Tampa remains intact, as he announced his new position as morning co-host on Hot AC WWRM (Magic 94.9) alongside Danielle McBroom, who has anchored the show since 2017.

Tavlin started his radio career as a street teamer at CMG Tampa in April 2018, eventually working his way up to weekend/fill-in talent, adding air shifts on CMG sisters WPYO (Power 95.3) and WWKA (K92.3)/Orlando. In March 2021, Tavlin (a.k.a. “Scotty The Body“) was upped to full-time producer of the Miguel & Hollymorning show and midday talent on Top 40 WPOI (Hot 101.5).

When Miguel & Holly left in Feb. 2022 for iHeartMedia’s WHQC (HITS 96.1)/Charlotte, Tavlin took over hosting the Hot 101.5 morning show, where he remained — until last month, when WPOI flipped to Urban AC as 101.5 The Vibe.

An ecstatic Tavlin broke his own news in an Instagram video and post that reads, in part, “I’ll be honest, I was scared when I heard the news that change was coming. But with your support from the moment it all went down, I knew this was not the end of what we started. Then, I found out this was the next door opening and I knew it was going to be best place to continue this journey! @magic949. Danielle and I have been working this past month to create a morning show you’d love. This is the start of an amazing new chapter and I’m extremely grateful.”
