Wayne Coy Wakes Up In Lincoln, NE

• We are pleased to report that Wayne Coy is back where he belongs — behind a morning show microphone, as he joins NRG Media Hot AC KBBK (B107.3)/Lincoln, NE as the new host of the B Breakfast Show with Wayne Coy and Company.

The new gig marks a welcome return to Nebraska for Coy (right), who notably programmed KQKQ (Sweet 98)/Omaha in the late ’90s/early 2000s. He also served as PD/morning host at WRVQ (Q94)/Richmond, WIXX/Green Bay, WI and the late, legendary WABB/Mobile, AL. More recently, Coy enjoyed a 13-year run hosting mornings at Alpha Media Hot AC KKIQ & KKDV in his native East San Francisco Bay area, until the COVID-19 budget crunch cut that adventure short.

Joining Wayne on his new show is his former Sweet 98 producer and co-host, Johnny Desjardins (left), who has also produced Cantore In The Morning in San Diego and Mancow’s Morning Madhouse in Chicago. Desjardins was also owner and creative director of the show prep service Today’s Bits, which was used by over 200 shows across the U.S.

KBBK Jill Lewis remarked, “Wayne and Johnny will bring energy and fun to the in-office audience that B107.3 has been known for.” Coy commented, “When I left Nebraska in 2002, it wasn’t goodbye forever… just so long for now. That’s probably why I’ve been back to visit so many times since then. I’m super stoked to be waking up Lincoln with Johnny and working with Jill, Ami, Steve and the whole NRG Media family. We’re about to have some big fun in the mornings on B107.3!”
