Bodean Named OM of Cumulus Melbourne
• Cumulus Media has appointed Tommy BoDean as Operations Manager of its four-station group in Melbourne, FL, and PD of Top 40 WAOA (WA1A) and Country WHKR (NASH FM 102.7). The other two stations in the group are Classic Rock WROK and Sports-Talk WLZR-AM (1560 The Fan).
This is familiar territory for BoDean, who previously spent seven years some 200 miles north in Jacksonville with iHeartMedia, rising to SVP of Programming of the cluster until July 2017. His earlier programming stops include WNFN (i106)/Nashville, WNOK/Columbia, SC, WKFS (Kiss 107.1) & WVMX (Mix 94.1)/Cincinnati, WZEE (Z104)/Madison and WKXJ/Chattanooga, TN.
Pete DeSimone, Regional Vice President, Cumulus Media, said, “I’m really excited Tommy is joining the Cumulus Melbourne team. He’s going to make an immediate impact — and at a time where programming and operational leadership are critical.” BoDean commented, “The world we live in is changing every minute and radio has not just an opportunity, but an obligation, to get plugged in and help. Now is the perfect time to step into a role that both challenges and excites me every day. I couldn’t be more excited to be joining the programming team at Cumulus Melbourne as OM for the cluster and PD for WAOA and WHKR. I can’t wait to get started! Thanks to Jimmy Steele for connecting the dots and to Pete DeSimone and Doug Hamand for making it happen.”
