Breeze Blows Strongly In The Bay

• Two years ago this month, iHeartMedia flipped KISQ/San Francisco from Rhythmic Oldies 98.1 Kiss FM to Soft AC as 98.1 The Breeze. The company now reports that, two years into its evolution, “KISQ leads the San Francisco market as the No. 1 music station in total audience share (6+) — up from No. 17 when it was a rhythmic oldies station.”

98.1 The Breeze features Jack Kulp and Carolyn McArdle as hosts of The Morning Breeze; Lisa St. Regis in middays; Tony Sandoval in afternoon drive and the Premiere-syndicated Delilah in the evening. “Launching The Breeze was a game-changer for KISQ,” said Don Parker, SVP of Programming for iHeartMedia’s San Francisco Region. “The station’s steady growth pattern to No. 1 in the market, surpassing such an iconic brand as heritage KOIT, is a direct result of the right mixture of programming and talent that resonates well with the Bay Area community. PD Ricci Filiar has really done a fantastic job establishing The Breeze as one of the Bay’s premiere radio stations.”

It was also announced that KISQ has inked a contract renewal with Morning Breeze co-host Jack Kulp (pictured, left).

Parker added, “We are also thrilled to extend our relationship with talent like Jack, who joined the station at launch and continues to build a strong relationship with our listeners.”
