Burgess Upped To Pres., iHeart Portland

• Marshal Burgess has been elevated from SVP of Sales to Market President of iHeartMedia’s Portland, OR group. He succeeds Pete Landry, who has left the radio industry.

Burgess has spent his entire media career in the Portland market, starting with CBS Radio in 1996. He joined iHeartMedia a year later as an AE, and worked his way up to Local Sales Manager in 2003, GSM in 2005 and VP of Sales in 2015 before being elevated to SVP of Sales in 2018.

Burgess will report to Tony Coles, Division President for iHeartMedia Multiplatform Group and President of BIN: Black Information Network, who noted, “It has been incredible to witness Marshal’s growth and success over the years. Few leaders bring the kind of experience, integrity, and vision that Marshal brings to the table. We look forward to Marshal building upon our history of success in Portland.”

Commenting on his new presidential role, Burgess remarked, “I’ve spent my entire life in Portland and grew up listening to Z100, not to mention many seasons listening to the Blazers on KEX. The support and positive energy I’ve received from Tony Coles and the entire team here in Portland have been unbelievable. I’m very excited for the future and am truly humbled by the opportunity.”
