Griffin Communications’ Employee Enhancements

• Oklahoma-based Griffin Communications announced a bunch of personnel moves and upgrades — a memo from Griffin’s VP/Chief Operating Officer Rob Krier laid out the revised structure, starting with the news that Randy Smith is crossing the street from Cox Radio Tulsa and joining Griffin as Director of Radio Sales, effective April 29. “Randy brings years of experience, tons of local connections and a can-do spirit to our already winning team,” Krier said. “As part of the integration, Randy and our sales team will now be part of our overall Griffin sales team and will report to VP of Sales, Wade Deaver. Dan Smith will be taking on a new role as Radio Local Sales Manager, working side-by-side with Randy and continuing to lead a team of AEs.”

But wait! There’s more! Krier also announced that Tulsa OM Steve Hunter (left) is officially named Director of Radio Operations & Programming for the Tulsa radio group — Top 40 KHTT (K-Hits 106.9), Classic Hits KBEZ (92.9 The Drive), Country KVOO, Classic Country KXBL (Big Country 99.5) and News-Talk KFAQ (Talk Radio 1170) — reporting directly to Krier.

Krier also announced that Morgan Grammer is now Director of Radio Engineering, Alexis Trotter‘s new title is Director of Radio Marketing and Melissa Thompson‘s role on the Griffin Communications accounting team will be expanded companywide. Krier said, “This structure ensures complete integration and alignment with Griffin’s other companies. Since this business model has been in place at all our companies since 2009, our companies have seen record ratings and market share. We look forward to continued growth and keeping Oklahomans safe, informed, and entertained.”
