iHeart Downsizing In The Heart Of Texas
• iHeartMedia has undergone some high profile executive downsizing in Texas, as two longtime company veterans have exited their fulltime positions — Kelly Kibler, Market President of Dallas-Ft. Worth, and Matt Martin, Market President of San Antonio-Austin. RAMP has also confirmed that Detroit Region President Paul Corvino will now annex oversight of DFW and the I-35 San Antonio-Austin corridor.
Kibler began her broadcast career at Telemundo in 1991. She joined Clear Channel in 1997 and had served as Director of Sales for Dallas, Market Manager of Las Vegas, San Diego and Dallas, EVP of Operations for Texas Major Markets and EVP of Multi-Cultural Marketing for the iHeartMedia Markets Group. She was elevated to Dallas-Ft. Worth Regional President in late 2016.
Martin served as Market Manager for San Antonio from 2006-2011, and was subsequently upped to Regional SVP of Operations, President of iHeartMedia’s Central Division and Central Texas Region before assuming his most recent dual-market role.
• And there’s more — another longtime fixture around iHeart’s DFW campus, Don Davis, has resigned his dual role as PD of Classic Rock KZPS (Lonestar 92.5) and Active Rock KEGL (97.1 The Eagle). Davis was named PD of KZPS in October 2008, coming off a two-year stint as PD of CMG Classic Rock WFYV (Rock 105)/Jacksonville. He was awarded KEGL stripes several years later. Earlier in his career Davis programmedKHYT/Tucson and WIOT/Toledo, OH. He can now be contacted at ddavisradio@gmail.com.
• Over on KEGL, Dan O’Malley and Alfie Coy have exited as hosts of The Eagle’s afternoon drive Treehouse show. Stay tuned for further updates.
