• Now we know who will fill the gaping morning vacancy at Univision Rhythmic KBBT (The Beat 98.5)/San Antonio — the Premiere-syndicated The Breakfast Club, starring Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy debuted Thursday morning.

“Univision San Antonio’s The Beat 98.5 has always been the city’s home for Hip Hop,” said Chris Morris, VP/GM of Univision San Antonio. “The program’s addition to The Beat 98.5’s schedule gives the station a morning show with unparalleled stature and magnitude in the world of Hip Hop, and will add even more luster to the station’s already stellar lineup of talent.” The Breakfast Club is based at iHeartMedia Urban WWPR (Power 105.1)/New York and airs on nearly 80 stations nationwide.

As we recently reported, the Beat’s former morning host, Dana Cortez recently exited and inked her own syndication deal with ABC Radio and Skyview Networks. The Dana Cortez Show, which also stars her husband, DJ Automatic and comedian Anthony Almanzar, was recently cleared in afternoon drive across the street on Alpha Media Top 40 KTFM (Energy 94.1).

• Meanwhile… across the street… iHeartMedia Country KAJA (KJ97) is moving the Premiere-syndicated Bobby Bones Show up from nights to 5-9m, starting Tuesday, August 28.

Fear not, fans of The Randy, Jamie, and JoJo morning show– they will now follow The Bobby Bones Showat 9am, and co-host Jamie Martin will roll solo from noon-3pm. PD “Kyle Anthony” Due remains in afternoon drive, followed by APD/MD Bree Wagner, who shifts to nights and takes on the expanded role of Director of Music Integration and Activation.

“This is an exciting time for San Antonio and for our KJ97 team,” said Matt Martin, President of iHeartMedia San Antonio-Austin. “We put Bobby on in evenings a few months ago. Ratings immediately spiked, and San Antonio is in the top 10 nationwide listening to The Bobby Bones Show Podcast. Starting Tuesday, San Antonio can wake up to The Bobby Bones Show and continue their day with Randy, Jamie and Jojo.” Kyle Due added, “Being able to have The Bobby Bones Show start off the day, followed by the Randy, Jamie, and JoJo Show, is a listening experience no one else can deliver in town.”
