It’s Simple: Clean Water Saves Lives

• Once again we salute our pal R Dub!, the creator, host and Producer of Benztown’s internationally syndicated hit weekend radio show Sunday Night Slow Jams, as his global charitable initiative, “Slow Jams 4 Kids,” in partnership with Water 4 Kids International today launches its second annual fundraising drive. The goal: $10,500 to provide the Aminit Border village in Uganda, Africa with a water well and clean water for the residents. Take a few moments and watch the promotional video.

R Dub!, a longtime world travel enthusiast, was inspired to take action after his first trip to Africa in December 2016. What he saw there was unthinkable: Nyakoi Akuoro Village in Uganda had no clean source of water, and villagers were forced to walk over a mile to a dirty water source — a disease-infested pit, full of mosquitoes. Last year’s inaugural drive raised $10,500 in just 26 hours, and on March 30, 2017, R Dub! celebrated the installation of a new water well, delivering fresh, clean water to Nyakoi Akuoro Village.

This year’s fundraising campaign kicks off today and continues through Friday, March 9. As an incentive, R Dub! and Benztown will make a $1,000 donation to the fund for every radio station that adds Sunday Night Slow Jams to its lineup between today and March 9.

R Dub! said, “Contributing to any cause is amazing, but this is one of my favorites, because when you contribute, just months later you’ll actually see the well that was built with your gift! You’ll see the families and children taking a drink from the first clean water source that has ever been available in their village. You’ll see the smiles you created; the lives you saved. It’s just such an amazing thing. Please watch the video; and if you can’t contribute, just share!” To watch the promotional video and donate to Water 4 Kids International and “Slow Jams 4 Kids,” please visit slowjams4kids.com.
