SBG Joins ‘Salute To The Songwriters’

• Sun Broadcast Group has proudly joined this Saturday’s A Salute to the Songwriters event as the exclusive network partner and is offering the benefit concert free to any station on a first-come, first-served basis with market exclusivity.

As we reported earlier this week, Alpha Media, Beasley Media Group, Cox Media Group, Hubbard Radio, Neuhoff Media and Townsquare Media will join BMI and some of country music’s top songwriters to present A Salute to The Songwriters, presented by BMI, a radio concert to benefit MusiCares COVID-19 Relief fund this Saturday, May 16 at 7pm. The commercial-free, three-hour concert will be broadcast on more than 100 Country stations and feature some of the songwriters behind country music’s biggest hits, straight from their living rooms and home studios. The line-up includes Dallas Davidson and Rhett Akins, Jon Randall and Jessi Alexander, Luke Dick and Jeff Hyde, Brandon Kinney and Clint Daniels, Barry Dean and Natalie Hemby, Dylan Altman and Wynn Varble.

Country music superstar and American Idol judge Luke Bryan will serve as a special guest co-host alongside several prominent local Country air personalities — Christi Brooks of KKBQ (93Q)/Houston, Fitz of KNUC (98.9 The Bull)/Seattle, Jeff K of KCYE (102.7 Coyote Country)/Las Vegas, Brian & Crissy of WGNA/Albany, NY and Josh Roberts of WFMB/Springfield, IL.

“We are thrilled to have Sun Broadcast Group join this collective effort to support the talented songwriters who have been deeply affected by COVID-19,” said Tim Clarke, VP of Content and Audience for Cox Media Group. “We hope that increased reach of this special benefit program will shine a brighter spotlight on these creative individuals and raise even more funds to support this community.”

Proceeds will go directly to the special MusiCares fund created by BMI, ASCAP and SESAC to support songwriters affected by the pandemic. For more information on securing A Salute to the Songwriters in your market, contact SBG’s Rich O’Brien at 212-380-9338 or Robrien@sunbgi.com.
