WMAL’s Walter Hosts Fisher House Special

Fisher House Foundation and The Jeff Wyatt Group jointly announced that Mary Walter, co-host of Mornings On The Mall on Cumulus News-Talk WMAL/Washington will anchor Fisher House Foundation’s radio special, Home Away from Home — The Fisher House Story, produced for Talk stations around the country.

The Fisher House program provides “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes provide temporary free lodging, so families can be close to their loved ones during a medical crisis. The three-hour radio special will feature stories of our nation’s heroes, families who serve by their side, and how Fisher House plays a role in their journey.

Jeff Wyatt, who produced the show, said of Walter, “Her talent, well known support for our military and broad base of listening across the U.S. makes her a great fit to support our wounded, injured and ill service members and their families.” Dave Coker, President of Fisher House Foundation, added, “We are thankful to have Mary part of our radio program this year. Mary and the team at WMAL have been such longtime supporters of Fisher House, and I know she will bring passion and enthusiasm to this special show.”

The special is scheduled to be delivered on November 1 for potential airing on Veterans Day Weekend, through the holiday season and into next Memorial Day and July 4th as well.
