Blazy & Bob – Bob = Blazy

• Today marks a bittersweet milestone in the career of the long-running morning team of Jeff Blazy and Bob Lilley, a.k.a. Blazy & Bob. The duo most notably spent 7 1/2 years together at the late, great KOME/San Jose back in the day. They reunited in 2010 to syndicate a show to four California markets. Today is Lilley’s final broadcast, as he (shown here with longtime friend of the show, Guy Fieri) announced he’s retiring to his hometown of Boise, ID, where it all started for him back in college. “I started out by helping put a radio station on the air at Boise State University, KBSU-FM,” he said. “From there I moved to the big Top 40 powerhouse, KFXD (Super 58), then came the big jump to Seattle, where I worked for KZOK and KISW. Next came KOME-FM, where I spent the longest time ever. After that ended, I did a short stint at KFRC/San Francisco, and then landed my first PD gig at 96.9 KLCI/Boise, ID.”

Lilley added, “I’ve had the pleasure of broadcasting all over the world, from Brisbane, Australia, to London (where we got a private tour of Abbey Road Studios), Tokyo, Jamaica, Los Angeles and New York, and I’ve played everything from ABBA to ZZ Top.” Blazy will continue on as the solo host of The Blazy Show, carried on KHIP/Monterey and KIOO/Visalia, CA. Many of the show’s exclusive musical performances over the years are posted at blazyandbob.com and can be enjoyed for a small donation that goes directly to Children’s Miracle Network.
