All Hail The Pope Of Riverside
• Inland Empire radio vet Jeff Pope is making his triumphant return to the Riverside-San Bernardino market next week on not one, but two radio stations — the cleverly named Jeff Pope Show will be simulcast on All Pro Broadcasting Rhythmic Hot AC KHTI (Hot 103.9) and AC KATY (101.3 The Mix) weekdays from 5:30-10am, starting Nov. 27. Pope is a familiar presence in the market, thanks to his 13-year run in mornings on iHeartMedia’s KGGI/Riverside until 2013. He most recently co-hosted the morning show with Marla Davies at Alpha Media Hot AC KEZR (Mix 106)/San Jose until early October, when they were replaced by the Premiere-syndicated Brooke & Jubal.
“I’ve been a huge Jeff Pope fan for 20 years, and we’re extremely excited to bring him home!” said John DeSantis, PD of Hot 103.9. “The Inland Empire’s greatest morning personality is back!” KATY PD Rick Shaw said, “I am beyond thrilled to be bringing Jeff back home to where he belongs, and dominated the Inland Empire for years! Mornings in the I.E. will never be the same!”
Pope (proudly wearing the gear of his beloved Los Angeles Kings), commented, “I grew up in the I.E., and this is where I began my radio career, and I can’t believe I get to return… and not to some soul-sucking corporate station, but to an independent station that clearly wants to win. Special thanks to the Davis family, VP/GM Kim Martinez, John DeSantis and Rick Shaw for making this homecoming possible!”
Pope replaces Nick Valdez and Kasee Garcia on KHTI and Bob Madden on KATY.
