Mark Charnock has been named as the new Chief Digital Officer of Reach Media and the Local Radio One Group. The official announcement was made by Alfred Liggins, CEO of Radio One during a recent quarterly earnings call. When introducing Charnock, Liggins said, “We have made a significant new hire for our local digital business, which I believe will help us grow that revenue stream over time.”
Charnock comes to Reach Media and Radio One after a 13-year run at Monster, most recently as Senior Vice President, Media and Sales. Charnock is described as “a strategic, multi-faceted and entrepreneurial sales professional with proven success as a leader in both start-up and established media firms. Building infrastructure and growing business capacity and digital revenue streams is what Charnock has become respected for over his progressive 23-year career. His expertise in web-based products and sales, including starting three companies is expected to be a good fit in the entrepreneurial, multi-media culture of Radio One, which will soon be renamed Urban One.”
