OAB Hall Of Fame To Induct Phil & Brent

For nearly 27 years, Phil & Brent hosted the KMOD Morning Zoo on iHeartMedia Rock 97.5 KMOD/Tulsa, building one of the most successful and recognizable morning radio programs in the state. At the height of their popularity, their strong ratings and unique brand of humor attracted an audience that extended well beyond traditional rock radio listeners.

The duo did their final show on KMOD on Sept. 28, 2012. Sadly, Phil Stone died on Nov. 21, 2012, and Brent Douglas passed away on Feb. 8, 2025.
“There are certain broadcasters who become more than voices on the radio. They become part of the lives and memories of their listeners,” said OAB President Will Payne. “Phil Stone and Brent Douglas did exactly that. For nearly three decades, they made Oklahoma laugh, built an incredibly loyal audience and created comedy that reached far beyond Tulsa. For generations of listeners, all it took was hearing, ‘How big a boy are ya?’ and you knew exactly who was on the other end of the phone. Roy D. Mercer became a radio legend, but the real magic was always Phil and Brent. Their talent, chemistry, creativity and originality left a lasting mark on Oklahoma broadcasting, and we are incredibly proud to welcome them into the OAB Hall of Fame.”
Phil Stone and Brent Douglas will be formally inducted into the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame on April 1, 2027. Additional information regarding the ceremony will be announced by the OAB in January.
