Not Old… ‘Collectable’

• As a special 4th birthday present to itself, Ohana Media Group Classic Hits KTMB (Oldies 102.1)/Anchorage, AK has injected some serious personality into what had been a largely jockless presentation (with the notable exception of Scott Shannon and Dick Bartley‘s weekend shows) by filling its major dayparts with actual humans! OMG Alaska VP/GM Tom Oakes said, “Oldies 102.1 KTMB has been a music-intensive station since we introduced the product in 2014.This week we took the next step in its evolution in adding personalities throughout the day helping create a more compelling entertainment product for our listeners and a stronger marketing partner for our clients.”

Leading off in morning drive is the Colbert Media Group-syndicated Murphy, Sam & Jodi. Oakes said, “Mixed with our ’60s & ’70s playlist, Murphy, Sam & Jodi bring a great wake-up show to Oldies 102.1 that will entertain our audience without a doubt each day.” Holding down middays is longtime Anchorage radio/TV personality “Super” Dave Stroh, who spent 21 years at crosstown KEAG-FM, much of that time as PD, and nearly two decades as evening news anchor on local CBS affiliate KTVA-TV. Oakes remarked, “With his experience in our format and his presence in the community, Dave is the perfect addition to KTMB’s middays.”

The Oldies 102.1 afternoon show will be piloted by another familiar name — Scott “Lugnut” Dwyer, PD of sister KFAT. Oakes said, “The depth of Scott’s knowledge of the music and pop culture is a great match for KTMB’s PM drive. Plus, being an Anchorage native he knows the community and culture that is uniquely Alaska.” In addition, KTMB is adding M.G. Kelly‘s Back to the ’70s and Compass Media’s The Beatle Years to its weekend schedule.
