Callahan Sticking Around @ Entercom San Diego

• Entercom San Diego and Operations Manager Kevin Callahan have put pen to legally binding documents to formalize a new multi-year agreement with Callahan to remain firmly in place. For the past several years, Callahan served as OM of the three legacy Entercom San Diego stations — Country KSON, Alternative KBZT (FM 94/9) and Classic Hits KXSN (Sunny 98.1). As a result of November’s Entercom/CBS Radio merger, AC KyXy and Top 40 KEGY (Energy 97.3) were added to Callahan’s purview.

While waiting for the ink to dry, Entercom San Diego Market Manager Bob Bolinger commented, “I’m thrilled Kevin will be leading our operations for many years to come. He is truly one of the elite broadcasters in America, who I’m confident will help us achieve record ratings and financial success.” Callahan commented, “Many thanks to Bob Bolinger, Pat Paxton and David Field for believing in me and giving me the tremendous opportunity in one of the most beautiful cities in America.”

Callahan arrived in San Diego in October 2010 as PD of KSON and was elevated to Operations Manager in 2014. Before that he spent seven years in Albany, NY as Regional VP of Programming for Pamal Broadcasting. Earlier in his career Callahan oversaw nine stations in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, CO, and he also had programming stops in Denver, West Palm Beach and Omaha. Callahan can be congratulated at kevin.callahan@entercom.com.
