North Carolina Pros In Motion
• We cleverly teased this news yesterday, and today, it’s official — Curtis Media Group Hot AC WMGV (V103.3)/Greenville-New Bern-Jacksonville, NC yesterday debuted Max and Amy In The Morning — a live and local wake-up show featuring Max Miller and Amy K. Miller most recently did mornings on Sunrise Broadcasting Alternative WRMR (Modern Rock 98.7)/Wilmington, NC, and Amy was doing middays on V103.3.
PD Colleen Jackson commented, “We’re very excited to welcome Max to V103.3. We love his enthusiasm and passion for radio and know his knowledge of the market and experience in mornings will help us build a great morning show that will be fun, funky and focused on our communities!” Amy said, “I already love Max… and I know our listeners will too! I look forward to working with Max and building a new morning show with someone whose creative brain has no pause button!” Miller commented, “I’m just happy to have a job again! No… for real. I’m excited for the opportunity to stay in North Carolina and build a new morning show on a cool station with cool people!”
• Meanwhile, back at Miller’s former station, Sunrise Broadcasting Alternative WRMR (Modern Rock 98.7)/Wilmington, NC has filled its morning show vacancy with the talents of Randy Slack, who spent the past five years as a producer/personality at iHeartMedia Pittsburgh. Before that he plied his mad producer skillz at iHeartMedia’s WLW-AM and WEBN/Cincinnati.
“I’m stoked to have Randy Slack on board,” WRMR PD Laura Lee tells RAMP. “With his producer background, he is very ‘plug-and-play’ in mornings. He’s got a great personality and knows how to run a tight morning drive ship. We finally have the right pieces falling into place and I look forward to building the Modern Rock brand with Slack.”
