GO Home, Christy Taylor!
• We now know where Christy Taylor is headed — she’s returning to GO Media Alternative KQGO (Go 96.3)/Minneapolis as APD/MD/midday personality, effective June 11. Last week Taylor resigned her 7-midnight spot on Riviera Broadcasting Hot AC KMVA (Hot 97.5/103.9)/Phoenix, and we’ve been anxiously awaiting her big announcement. Taylor will succeed Miles Anzaldo, who was recently named MD at the World Famous KROQ/Los Angeles.
The move to the Twin Cities marks a radio homecoming or sorts for Ms. Taylor — prior to landing in Phoenix in April 2015 as MD/midday talent at Hubbard Alternative KDKB (ALT AZ 93-3), Taylor served as interim New Media and Music Manager during the launch phase of Go 96.3 under its original KTWN calls.
Taylor is best known for her lengthy stint at Alternative XTRA (91X)/San Diego, where she rose from nights in 2008 to the PD chair in April of 2012. Earlier in her career Taylor was APD/MD/midday personality at WZMR (104.9 The Edge)/Albany, NYand she did weekends at the late, great WXRK (92.3 K-Rock)/New York.
• Concurrent with Taylor’s arrival, Go 96.3 morning co-host Giselle Ugarte (left) is formally awarded Digital Brand Manager duties and evening personality Jordan (right) is now sporting Asst. MD stripes.
Sam Elliot Gagliardi, President & COO of GO Media commented, “We are thrilled to have Christy, Giselle and Jordan take over and build the Go brand in the Twin Cities. The team led by Christy will oversee all programming elements for 96.3 including music selection, on-air contesting, on-air promotions and Go Show bookings.”
