RAMP Leap Of The Week™
• After an exhaustive three-month search, Entercom Country KKWF (100.7 The Wolf)/Seattle has found the right person — Alek Halverson is bracing for the whiplash-inducing move upward from Fargo, ND to Seattle, as he is hired as The Wolf’s new MD and afternoon drive personality, effective Thursday, February 21. The position has been open since Wingnut left in November after nine years.
“Alek’s passion for radio and dedication to entertaining people on air and on social media makes him a great addition to our team,” said Jack Hutchison, SVP/Market Manager, Entercom Seattle. “We are excited to welcome him to Seattle and to start a new chapter of afternoon drive.”
Halverson is inbound from frosty Fargo, where he was APD/MD and afternoon talent at Radio FM Media Top 40 KLTA (BIG 98.7). Before that he did nights across the street on Radio Fargo-Moorhead Country KBVB (Bob 95).
A clearly excited Halverson commented, “I couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity to work for Entercom and to connect with the Seattle community. Big thanks to [PD] Drew Bland, [OM] Dave Richards and Jack Hutchison for this opportunity. I cannot wait to hit the ground running with this team.” Concurrent with Halverson’s arrival, PD Drew Bland will move back to 7-midnight.
