New Path For Mikey Fuentes
• Congrats to Mikey Fuentes on his resignation as VP of Programming for Riviera Broadcasting Rhythmic KKFR (Power 98.3 & 96.1) and Hot AC KMVA (Hot 97.5/103.9)/Phoenix!
OK, before you take that the wrong way, we can assure you that Mikey’s leaving is entirely due to the incredible success of his other baby, Tino Cochino Radio, which is syndicated by YEA Networks and has now grown to 40 affiliates and counting. For the past few years Mikey has also served as Director of Affiliate Relations for the show, which is based at KKFR, but with the explosive growth of TCR, Fuentes felt it was time to devote his full attention to the future success of the show.
Fuentes was named PD of KKFR in August 2011, after a stint as Director of Programming for Impact Radio Group in Boise, ID. It was his second tour of duty with Riviera in Phoenix, having helped launch Spanish Contemporary KVIB (95.1 Latino Vibe) in 2005. His earlier programming stops include KWIE/Riverside and KYLZ/Albuquerque, NM.
Concurrent with Fuentes’ departure, Riviera Phoenix Operations Manager Marc Young will inherit programming responsibilities for KMVA; over at KKFR, APD/MD DJ Complex is covering Power programming duties as the search for a new PD gets underway.
