• Stand by for the official announcement, but RAMP has gone ahead and confirmed that Alpha Media Country KGNC/Amarillo, TX has pulled off several major personnel moves: 1) a new morning show, and 2) a new OM/PD.
Let’s start in morning drive, where KGNC welcomes the syndicated Big D & Bubba show, effective this week. In a joint statement, Big D & Bubba said, “It’s such an honor to be given the reigns of such a legendary station! We appreciate Alpha and their leadership giving us this opportunity.”

• Next, please say hello to major market pro Scott Gaines, who joins KGNC as OM/PD and afternoon drive personality. He replaces former PD Cash Warren (a.k.a. Jason Kidd), who left a year ago to co-host mornings on Max Media Country WGH-FM (97.3 The Eagle)/Norfolk, and pm driver Patrick Clark, who recently exited.
Gaines (left) most recently spent two years as APD/afternoon personality at Cumulus Country WKHX (101.5 Kicks)/Atlanta until early December 2019. Gaines previously did afternoon drive on WGKX (Kix 106)/Memphis and WSM-FM (95.5 NASH Icon)/Nashville, and he also served as APD/MD/afternoon jock on WDTW (106.7 The Fox)/Detroit a few years back.
