Palmieri Extended At iHeart Providence

• iHeartMedia Providence announced that the multi-tasking Doug Palmieri has extended his deal with the company for another four years, keeping him firmly in command of heritage Rock WHJY and Hot AC WSNE (Coast 93.3) as well as co-host of 94HJY’s popular Doug & Scarpetti afternoon show and Coast 93.3’s Doug and Jenn Morning Show. “We are so fortunate to have Doug as part of the team in Providence,” said Rhonda Lapham, Market President for iHeartMedia Providence. “He brings so much knowledge and creativity to both stations and his longevity in particular with 94 HJY is one of the largest reasons for the station’s continued success.”

Palmieri has several high-level positions throughout his radio career, including Creative Services Director at WHEB/Portsmouth, NH, and Production Director for the WEEI Sports Radio Network. Palmieri actually got his radio start as a intern and part-timer at 94HJY in 1993, returning to the station 20 years later as night jock and Production Director. He was quickly elevated to PD and afternoon co-host and recently annexed programming responsibilities for Coast 93.3.
