Kat Corbett Leaves KROQ/Los Angeles
• The multi-talented Kat Corbett, part of the fabric of “The World Famous” KROQ/Los Angeles for more than two decades, announced her departure from the station in a lengthy blog post that begins, bluntly enough, “Sooooo I quit KROQ.”
The post continues, “It’s all good! I am eternally grateful for my long and crazy KROQ life. I was leaving the World Famous a while back actually, but Covid hit, deals fell through, yada yada. Now with things opening up, I’m having exciting conversations again.” Corbett added, “If you ever listened when I hosted middays, thank you. It was truly an honor to follow the Kevin & Bean show all those years. Thanks to the record reps and managers who trusted me with artists in many delicate situations. I’ll still be bugging you of course, but for now, thank you for introducing me to my heroes.”
Corbett famously programmed and hosted KROQ’s popular and influential Locals Only specialty show for nearly 20 years. She continues to host a daily ’90s Alt/grunge show on SiriusXM’s Lithium (channel 34) at 3pm PT/6pm ET. In the meantime, Corbett has a bunch of other irons in the fire, including the impending release of her debut novel. Watch this space for further details.
