Gray Succeeds Retiring Kay At Coast 93.3
• Sending our best wishes to Lisa (Captain) Curry, better known as Lisa Kay (left), co-host of the Lisa & Chris Morning Show (with OM Chris Kellogg) on Cumulus AC WNCV (Coast 93.3)/Ft. Walton Beach, FL since 2015 and Promotions & Marketing Director for the cluster, who recently announced her retirement, unplugging after a nearly 40-year radio career.
When naming a successor, Cumulus keeps it in the family and promotes on-air talent Leslie Gray to Coast 93.3 morning co-host, joining Kellogg on the rebranded Leslie & Chris in the Morning. Gray (right) has been Sales & Promotions Asst. for Cumulus Ft. Walton Beach for the past seven years and will also assume the role of Promotions Director for the five-station group.
Kellogg remarked, “Lisa was terrific on-air and off-air, a great teacher and a wonderful morning show partner. While Lisa will be missed, we wish her much happiness in her retirement.” Turning to the future, Kellogg continued, “We’re excited to welcome Leslie Gray to mornings on Coast 93.3. She brings all those experiences of having worked alongside Lisa in Promotions, as well as her own likeable personality to the morning show. We’re going to have some fun!”
Curry began her radio career in 1982 while at Miami University, working at college station WMUB and local commercial station WOXY. In the late ’80s/early ’90s Curry worked in San Diego at KBZT (K-Best 95)/KWLT (K-Lite 94.9) and KKYY (Y95) with the legendary Jeff and Jer Showgram. She later served as Promotions Director for KZEP/San Antonio before arriving in Ft. Walton Beach, where she worked for WWSF (98Surf) and spent five years at WYZB before joining WNCV in 2012. In her retirement, Curry plans to work on her golf game and travel with her husband, Jim Curry, former Okaloosa County, FL, Administrator.
