Rogers, Lyons On The Move
• Entercom Hot AC KZPT (99.7 The Point)/Kansas City is busy waxing the floors and steaming the drapes in preparation for the arrival of its new afternoon jock and a newly created morning team — let’s start with Aaron Rogers, who assumes the afternoon chair on April 3. Rogers (left) spent the past six years as APD/MD/afternoon drive personality on iHeartMedia Top 40 WZEE (Z104)/Madison, WI until his exit in December. Earlier in his career Rogers worked at WIXX/Green Bay and Entercom’s WMYX & WXSS/Milwaukee.
Rogers succeeds current pm driver Brady Goodman, who is moving to mornings, teaming up with Taylor McKay. Rogers said, “I am beyond thrilled to join the team on 99.7 The Point! Being presented with an opportunity to work with [PD] Leigh McNabb was a no-brainer, along with the talented Brady Goodman and Taylor McKay and the entire KZPT team. • Cumulus Media has appointed seasoned radio marketing and promotions pro Jeff Lyons as Promotions/Marketing Director for its five-station group in Appleton-Oshkosh, WI — Alternative WWWX (96.9 The Fox), Country WPKR (NASH FM 99.5), Classic Hits WVBO, News-Talk WOSH-AM and Adult Standards WNAM-AM. Lyons transitions from a similar position with iHeartMedia in Modesto, CA. His previous radio positions include Director of Marketing and Promotions for Gold Coast Broadcasting in Oxnard-Ventura, CA, Promotions Director and On-Air Host for American General Media in Santa Maria, CA, and he was Promotions Director for Cumulus stations in Huntsville, AL and Tallahassee, FL. Lyons began his career in 2003 as Promotions Director for WPXY/Rochester, NY.
Guy Dark, Operations Manager of the Appleton-Oshkosh cluster commented, “Jeff’s experience in various markets made him an easy choice to fill our Promotions slot.
