Gracie Awards Winners Announced
In an already incredible and historic year for women, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) celebrates female luminaries by recognizing their outstanding achievements across new and traditional media platforms. The annual Gracie Awards support AWMF’s educational programs and scholarship campaigns that benefit women in media. Here are some of the more notable radio honorees: Gala Winners include Kelly Ford, co-host of Cumulus Media’s Ty, Kelly and Chuck morning show (Co-host); Cheree Carter of Cumulus Media’s WAOA/Melbourne is a dual winner for Host/Personality and Imaging, and PSA honors went to McVay Minute and J:30 from the Dawson McAllister Association.
Among the Radio Luncheon Winners — Erin O’Malley, WBMX (Mix 104.1)/Boston for “Host/Anchor — Local,” Shelli Sonstein of WAXQ (Q104.3)/New York won two Gracies: “Co-host — Local” for her role on The Jim Kerr Rock ‘n Roll Morning Show and “Public Affairs — Local” for Sonstein Sunday. Jillian Kempton, APD/MD of WLTW (106.7 Lite FM)/New York was honored for “Imaging — Local,” and WMJX (Magic 106.7)/Boston‘s Exceptional Woman show was the winner of the “Soft News Feature — Local” award for the episode, “Then You Stand.” Host Sue Tabb and Producer Kendra Petrone will accept the award for their submission.
The Gracie Awards Gala will take place on Tuesday, June 6 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California and the Gracie Awards Luncheon will take place on Tuesday, June 27 at Cipriani on 42nd Street in New York, New York. The full list of all the honorees is posted online.
