Callahan Temporarily Adopts Albany’s Cat

• Pamal executive Chuck Benfer announced that Kevin Callahan, newly named Corporate Director of Operations and Programming will assume interim PD duties for Country WKLI (100.9 The Cat)/Albany, NY, effective immediately. It was concurrently announced that WKLI APD/afternoon talent Pete Kelly will annex interim Music Director duties.

The WKLI PD post has been open since Jon Reilly left late last year to become OM of Midwest Communications stations in Wausau, WI. Since then, the station has been overseen by Jake Thomas, who is now Market Manager of Pamal’s five-station group in Glens Falls, NY.

“Having Kevin directly lead our Country programming efforts on WKLI for the time being makes the best sense given Kevin’s deep understanding and passion for the format,” Benfer said. “Kevin continues to lead and guide our entire programming effort. His increased focus will be very beneficial to WKLI’s audience and our advertisers while we search for the right programming candidate to ultimately fill the vacant PD role.”
