Virgin Promotes Cooper, Di Frisco & Holman
• Virgin Music Group, the global independent music division of Universal Music Group, has elevated three executives: Leslie Cooper has been named Senior Vice President, Artist Development & Special Projects, Marisa Di Frisco has been named Vice President of National Promotion, and Lauren Holman has been named Vice President of Streaming Marketing.
In her new role, the Los Angeles-based Cooper (left) will report directly to Virgin Music President Jacqueline Saturn and oversee K-Pop releases within the Virgin Music Group. She will also identify new artist development opportunities within the company and lead collaborative efforts in that area. Cooper was previously Vice President at the company, where she worked closely with SM Entertainment on their SuperM and NCT 127 projects, which resulted in No. 1 and No. 3 album debuts. Cooper’s previous stops include Capitol Music Group, Columbia Records, and Atlantic Records.
In her new role, Di Frisco (center) will continue to oversee promotion campaigns at Alternative, Rock, Triple A, and Non-com/College radio. Before joining Virgin in 2018, Di Frisco spent six years under the leadership of iHeartMedia Chief Programming Officer Tom Poleman and rising to Alternative Rock Artist Relations Manager for the company’s National Programming Group. Di Frisco will continue to be based in Virgin Music’s New York offices and report to Marni Halpern, SVP of Promotion for Virgin Music.
Holman (right) will now lead the Streaming and Playlisting Strategy team to ensure the label partners and artists maximize their exposure on the DSPs. She and her team have been integral to the success of such artists as Rema, whose global hit “Calm Down” just crossed 11 billion streams globally. Holman is based in Los Angeles and reports to Cindy James, SVP of Commercial Marketing.
Jacqueline Saturn, President of Virgin Music, commented, “These three accomplished executives have played a crucial role in artist development. They make sure our labels and artists get the support they need at every phase of their careers. I’m happy to be able to promote them to these important new positions where they will be able to contribute even more to our continued success.”
